Our traditional Brazil based espresso blend with 30% Washed Yirgacheffe in the mix. When we acquired our Blue Nile Yirgacheffe we couldn’t resist upgrading Hornet, despite the expense. The results have given the highly popular “Hornet” blend a new dimension of clarity, brightness and body. An attractive, sweet milk chocolate canvas is embellished with just a whiff of berry fruit juiciness. Mouth feel and body are hefty, reflecting full development of sugars in roasting. Hornet works well both as a stand-alone espresso and in milk based beverages.
It is very good as a pour over, but we like it best as an espresso. In our shop we serve “Blue Hornet 5-8″ days off roast, and with a water temperature of 201.5 Farenheit.
